Favourite places to go swimming In Stockholm:
1. The Blue Lagoon: 30 minutes outside the city centre you’ll find the blue lagoon on Ekerö. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in Stockholm. With its turquoise water and fine-grained sand this place stands out from the other lakes around the city. This spot has become popular over the years and you can enjoy ice cream and soft drinks from the trailer café. Definitely worth a visit!
2. Tantobadet: The go-to spot in Stockholm. A lot of people go here to cool down in ”Mälaren” (the lake running through Stockholm). You can jump from the diving towers, shower after bathing, climb on climbing walls, play volleyball or even paint graffiti on the park’s legal wall. There are a lot of great restaurants close by in Hornstull so you can easily spend the whole day in Tanto.
3. Lilla Essingen: Lilla Essingen is an island in central Stockholm surrounded by Mälaren, so you can basically go bathing from anywhere around the island’s many docks. Popular place for sunbathing or picnics in the park Luxparken. Also, the island got a lot of restaurants with nice outdoor seating.
4. Saltsjöbaden Outdoor Bath: Located in the archipelago of Stockholm, 30 minutes from the city, Saltsjöbaden Outdoor Bath offers a sandy beach, sun terraces and sauna. They take an entrance fee here but you’ll love the fine-grained sand plus swimming in the sea beats a lake any day of the week!
